Extremely rare BMW 326 Roadster built by Drauz Heilbron. This BMW was built to order from a customer in Nazi Germany and drove around in Germany during the war years. We have commissioned BMW Classic division to search the archives to find out who ordered this car and had it built at Drauz. Drauz was one of the body builders in Germany who converted cars to Roadster or convertible models according to the customer's wishes. This conversion is very rare and is numbered according to the conversion by Drauz. The engine and gearbox are still the matching numbers that came from the factory on this car. What we know about this special BMW, we learned from the current owner, who has owned the car for almost 40 years. According to what we now know, this car was ordered in 1936 and was converted to this beautiful Roadster at Drauz on the order of its owner. The BMW 326 drove around in Nazi Germany throughout the 2nd World War and then the German owner probably had to flee to Chile to continue living hidden there and drive around with this BMW. The car was discovered in Chile in the 1980s by the daughter of the current owner who imported the car from Chile to Belgium. Here it was completely restored and re-registered on Belgian number plates. Since the 1980s until now, the car has been kept in a private collection and sometimes driven. Now the time has come to sell this car and in my opinion it is offered very cheaply. There are photos of the restoration in the 1980s and a technical manual about the mechanics of this car. The engine is exactly the same as the engine of the BMW 327 Roadster. We now hope to learn more about the BMW archive soon to uncover the history hidden between 1936 and 1945...present. We sell this car on order and have serviced the engine and brakes so that a test drive can also be done after appointment.
